OS2 est une fibre optique monomode standard couramment utilisée avec des longueurs d’onde de 1310nm et 1550nm (9/125 microns), et a une atténuation maximale de 1dB/km. La norme OS2 est définie dans la norme ISO/IEC 11801. Ce câble à fibre optique non conducteur (OFNR) est le mieux adapté aux applications de fibre optique à l’intérieur des bâtiments.
