Le Cisco 5000 Enterprise Network Compute System (ENCS) est une gamme d’appliances de calcul conçues pour la solution Cisco SD-Branch et Enterprise Network Functions Virtualization (ENFV). Elle offre une nouvelle norme de flexibilité et de performance définie par logiciel, ainsi qu’un faible coût total de possession (TCO). Le 5000 ENCS est une plateforme hybride qui combine les meilleurs attributs d’un routeur traditionnel et d’un serveur traditionnel et offre la même fonctionnalité avec une empreinte d’infrastructure plus petite. Proposée avec le routeur virtuel à services intégrés (ISRv) de Cisco et le logiciel d’infrastructure NFV (NFVIS) comme couche d’hébergement, la plateforme offre une solution complète pour un déploiement simplifié. Elle accélère également certaines fonctions au niveau matériel, telles que les flux de trafic entre VM, la cryptographie IP Security (IPsec) et le RAID pour le stockage. La gestion intégrée de l’extinction des lumières est également prise en charge avec le contrôleur de gestion intégré de Cisco sur certains modèles.
